Lakeview Retreat

This rooftop deck is set up to be a personal, secluded, retreat from the city life… These clients use this space often during the spring, summer, and fall months. In this Chicago garage rooftop deck and rear yard design we wanted the clients to feel private, yet have the flexibility of sun or shade pending time of day and the season. We used an automated louvered pergola to open to the night sky, and block the suns rays, pending on setting. On the side of the garage we softened their deck with plant materials affixed to the brick walls. We added plenty of year round screening using frosted glass, evergreen shrubs, and horizontal IPE privacy panels. The result is an oasis that gives the clients the privacy they want, and the flexibility to adapt to the Chicago weather patterns we are all so used to.
